Thanks for the link to a very entertaining speaker. I have tried to return to educating the whole child ever since 1970. Up until then, the University of Michigan, where I taught, had a lab school that had been teaching the whole child since the 1930s - working there was nirvana for a teacher - politics closed the school and academic progress won the day.
